Malaga have completed the signing of former Real Sociedad midfielder Chory Castro on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
The Uruguayan rescinded his link with La Real on Tuesday due to a lack of first-team opportunities, and he will now wear the No 5 jersey at La Rosaleda.
Speaking at the player's official presentation, sporting director Francesc Arnau commented: “He's the type of player we're looking for.
“He is a very experienced player and knows the Spanish League well.
“He was never in any doubt about the move and always wanted to join Malaga.”
Castro, 31, came to Spain with Real Mallorca in 2007 and spent five seasons in Palma before joining La Real in 2012.
He ends his spell at Anoeta with 12 goals and 27 assists in 114 appearances.
