Real Madrid have reportedly approached Miralem Pjanic through his father as they step up their interest in the Roma midfielder.
Marca reports Madrid’s interest first came to light in late November but Los Blancos have taken it further and made the Bosnia-Herzegovina playmaker a priority signing.
Representatives of the club met with Pjanic’s father, who also acts as his agent, but the price Roma would insist on – the €45m release clause in his contract – might prove too much for Madrid at the moment.
But Florentino Perez may decide to meet the stipulation in order to bolster the squad for the rest of the season as Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also said to be following the player.
