Real Madrid have confirmed that they will contest their Copa del Rey expulsion via the civil courts after being knocked back by TAD on Monday.
Los Blancos were punished for fielding an ineligible player in the suspended Denis Cheryshev against Cadiz on December 4, but despite all the available sporting channels proving unsuccessful, they will now pursue legal action against the RFEF.
“The Administrative Court of Sport has dismissed the appeal made by Real Madrid concerning the Spanish Football Federation's disciplinary decisions in relation to the Copa del Rey round of 32 first-leg tie,” read a statement on Madrid’s official website.
“The club respects but does not agree with the Court’s ruling and as such announces its decision to pursue a judicial-administrative course of action, along with other possible legal options, which are currently being studied.”
