Manchester United reportedly lead the chase for Valencia’s Sofiane Feghouli, with Chelsea, Liverpool, Inter and Roma among the other contenders.
Super Deporte confirms a story that originated in Italy’s Corriere dello Sport that claimed United had stepped up their interest in the Algeria international, who will be out of contract in summer 2016.
Feghouli can legally speak to other clubs as of January 1 and as well as United, Premier League sides including Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring the situation.
Inter and Roma are named as Feghouli’s Italian suitors while Paris Saint-Germain are in the frame, as are Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
It’s understood, however, that Feghouli’s preference at the moment is to remain with Valencia, and rules out any club not in England as a step backwards from Los Che.
Feghouli’s representatives are to meet again with the Valencia hierarchy to discuss his situation at the club and it was suggested Feghouli would reject more lucrative offers from teams such as Roma and Spurs to stay at Valencia.
But United and Chelsea are another matter as they can offer both greater financial rewards and an increased chance of trophies, satisfying Feghouli’s sporting demands as well.
