Jose Castro has admitted that Sevilla are powerless to stop ‘bigger’ clubs from showing an interest in their players.
The Andalucians have been continually forced to sell their stars, with speculation about Grzegorz Krychowiak only recently ending due to a new contract and talks with Ever Banega ready to begin, despite Manchester City reportedly monitoring the midfielder.
“We’re working on Banega’s renewal at the moment,” he told Radio Marca.
“He’s an important player and enjoying his best football at Sevilla.
“We must show our appreciation for his quality so an agreement can be reached, but he wants to stay and continue with Sevilla.
“[Ciro Immobile] had a good game and scored a difficult goal [against Real Madrid] which proved he was a great striker.
“He now needs that confidence of having minutes and hopefully stays like this so he can give us a lot of joy.
“I’ve always trusted [Unai Emery]. Sometimes he wins, sometimes he doesn’t, but most of the time he’s right.
“If we continue as we have done, [interest in our players] will remain as in previous seasons. There will be many teams interested in our players.
“[On Sergio Ramos being booed], Sergio Ramos is a sevillismo, and I hope that any player who has played for Sevilla and also professed his Sevilla roots, despite being a Real Madrid player, is never insulted.”
