Lionel Messi has hailed the “special chemistry” he shares with Luis Suarez and Neymar in Barcelona’s attack.
The trio, affectionately known as the ‘MSN’, combined last season to become the most prolific front three in Spanish football history, with 122 goals scored, as they fired La Blaugrana to a historic second treble.
“[On the biggest changes made from the campaign before], last season was our biggest change as we changed everything, such as our diet and hydration,” he said in a Gatorade documentary on 2014-15’s successes.
“We had to go through various difficult situations, unrelated to football, but that was when we were at our most united in the dressing room. I think we showed strength when we needed to.
“The truth is that playing with Neymar and Suarez in attack is spectacular.
“Given the kind of players they are, because we get on well both on and off the pitch, there’s a special chemistry between us.
“We’re all for the good of the team. There’s no selfishness or anything of the sort.
“It’s always more difficult to continue winning the season after. Everyone wants to beat the champions as it’s an extra motivation for them.”
