LFP President Javier Tebas has played down reports that a linesman was pressured into favouring Real Madrid over Barcelona in next month’s Clasico.
The Spanish Press on Thursday reported the claim that a member of the Referees Technical Committee had tried to influence the decision-making in November’s Clasico against Barcelona – to which the League chief says there is “little” credence.
“The complaint sounds a little implausible, since the officials for that game [next month’s Clasico] have yet to be appointed,” he told Marca.
“[On RFEF chief Angel Maria Villar being investigated by FIFA], FIFA isn’t reaching into his pocket but is trying to work out why he did not disclose how money got into other people’s pockets.”
