Spain’s Angel Maria Villar has been named the President of the FIFA Russia 2018 Organisational Committee for the 2018 World Cup.
Villar, President of the Spanish Football Federation [RFEF], is also the acting President of UEFA as Michel Platini battles a 90-day suspension.
Villar will also sit on interim FIFA President Issa Hayatou’s Emergency Committee as the representative of UEFA, Hayatou assuming office after Sepp Blatter was also suspended over allegations involving a payment to Platini.
The FIFA Executive Committee on Tuesday met in Zurich and is due to meet again early in December.
