Barcelona will take their attempt to register Arda Turan to the Court of Arbitration for Sport if they fail in an appeal to FIFA, reports say.
Sport claim the Catalans will argue they have the right to register the summer signing as a replacement for Rafinha, who has suffered a long-term injury.
There is a clause that allows for players to be registered outside the transfer window in the case of a long-term injury but FIFA are of the stance that Barca’s transfer embargo is still in effect.
Barca however believe the embargo ended with the summer transfer window and their case will be heard by FIFA’s Court of Appeals.
If that proves unsuccessful then next step would be CAS, and Barca will also bring the case of the children prevented from playing or training with Barca and their teammates.
Barca were sanctioned for the signing of under-18s from outside Spain and the youngsters involved have been banned from playing or training with Barca as a result.
