Real Sociedad boss David Moyes felt Sunday’s goalless draw with Athletic Bilbao in the Basque derby was contested “in a British style”.
Nothing could separate the Basque rivals at Anoeta, although the match was overshadowed by an apparent handball from Asier Illarramendi in the Athletic box, which was not given.
“We lacked accuracy from set-pieces and in our passing,” Moyes said after the game.
“Athletic had chances in the first half, but we did in the second.
“[On Illarra’s perceived handball], it first hit his knee and then his hand. It wasn’t a penalty.
“The match was played in a British style as it was hotly contested [by both teams].”
