Claudio Bravo insists Roma’s equaliser against Barcelona on Wednesday was Alessandro Florenzi’s “triumph” and not a mistake from Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
The German was lobbed from near the halfway line during Barca’s 1-1 draw with the Giallorossi in the Champions League, and his fellow shot-stopper admits La Blaugrana’s style of play makes goals of the midfielder’s ilk inevitable.
“It was Florenzi’s triumph. Our way of playing requires us to take these risks,” he told Futbolmania.com.
“Sometimes playing further [off your line] allows you to cut some balls out, but you can also concede goals like [Ter Stegen did] in Rome.
“We always strive to be careful, but I almost conceded a goal [like Florenzi’s] against Malaga earlier in the year.
“[Either way], you’re heavily scrutinised for any action you perform [at a club like Barca].
“It’s normal that Rafinha is currently experiencing a low mood.
“It’s very difficult to be away from the pitch. I’ve only missed a few weeks, but I’m already finding it very difficult. We must give all our support to him.
“Of course [we can repeat the treble]. Some people wanted to hurt us and infect our dressing room last season, but we only focused on what we knew and worked without letting anything affect us.
“We concentrated on what we should’ve been [concentrating on], and we won every trophy at the end of the season.
“[On the rivalry between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo], Messi’s the best in the world by far.
“It’s an honour to share a dressing room and spend every day with the world No 1.
“[On predecessor Victor Valdes], we can’t forget that he had an impressive career at the club, where he won practically everything.
“Personally, I feel very proud to defend Barca’s goal. It’s a huge challenge.”
