Alen Halilovic has expressed his disappointment with Barcelona's failure to sign Mateo Kovacic this summer.
The Croatian midfielder had long been linked with La Blaugrana, despite their transfer ban, but eventually joined arch-rivals Real Madrid, leaving a sour taste in his countryman's mouth.
“I don't know why Barca didn't sign Kovacic,” the Sporting Gijon loanee told Cadena SER.
“He's very, very good and a very important player for the future.
“I'm very happy here. Sporting are a big club, with good players and a good Coach.
“The first day I saw [Lionel Messi], it was a shock. My legs started trembling.”
