Sergio Gonzalez admits he is “concerned” about Espanyol’s recent exodus but has assured fans the club “are working overtime” to bring in new faces.
Captain Sergio Garcia, goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, winger Lucas Vazquez and striker Christian Stuani have all departed Cornella-El Prat this summer, while Hector Moreno is believed to be nearing a move to Dutch champions PSV.
“I’m always thinking [about my squad],” the Coach told reporters ahead of the Ciutat de Barcelona trophy.
“The potential of the team is not the same as it was last season, but we’re working overtime [to address that].
"The sports department is working hard, but I’m more concerned than I should be because we’ve lost five key players.
“We need a strong centre-back and attackers, but I’m convinced that they will ultimately arrive.”
