Nuno Santo has leapt to Nicolas Otamendi’s defence after the centre-back was booed by a section of Valencia fans during Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Roma.
The Argentine defender has refused to publicly pledge his loyalty to Los Che in light of continued speculation linking him with Manchester United and Real Madrid, but the Coach insists the player still retains Mestalla’s full support.
“He’s the same as always, he’s super-competitive and one of the best centre-backs around,” he told Superdeporte.
“If you were to ask fans, they would say they wanted Ota to stay. The team are built on the fans’ support.”
