Deportivo La Coruna are working on taking Cani on loan from Villarreal, but the midfielder’s wages are a problem.
AS reports Cani is training alone as he isn’t in the plans of Marcelino and there is tension between the pair. Depor hope to have an agreement soon so the veteran can pick up the pace of his pre-season preparations.
Cani earns €1m per year from the Yellow Submarine and Deportivo can’t afford to match that, but are hopeful that a loan deal can be agreed that would see the player’s wages split between the clubs.
It’s an arrangement that Cani is said to welcome, and he has turned down offers from abroad that would have paid better.
Depor are also looking to take Sidnei from Benfica and the deal could be confirmed imminently, and Sporting Lisbon’s Salomao.
