Marcelo has revealed that “I feel like a Real Madrid cantera” after extending his contract with the club until 2020.
The left-back, 27, is expected to be promoted to vice-captain following the departure of Iker Casillas to Porto, and he spoke of his delight at having secured his future at the Santiago Bernabeu for the next five years.
“I feel like a Real Madrid cantera,” he told Real Madrid TV.
“[My renewal] is a dream come true, and I’m proud to have defended this jersey for almost a decade. It’s a great responsibility.
“I hope to win trophies [in my 10th season at Madrid] and win every game.”
