Spain’s Professional Football League (LFP) has officially sold its 2015-16 television rights to Telefonica for €600m.
The new agreement will see Telefonica, primarily known for its telecommunications operations, including O2 in the United Kingdom, broadcast La Liga, La Segunda and, on a pay-per-view basis, the Copa del Rey to Spanish households next season.
“The €600m deal agreed on Friday July 10 gives Telefonica exclusive La Liga & Liga Adelante [La Segunda] rights and pay-per-view rights of the Copa del Rey.
"Telefonica and La Liga are extremely satisfied with this agreement for the 2015-16 season, one which we also consider beneficial for all operators, clubs and fans.”
