The father of Yevhen Konoplyanka has revealed that the Sevilla new boy harbours ambitions of playing for Barcelona one day.
The Ukrainian winger has agreed to join the Europa League winners, although he has yet to be officially unveiled, and Oleg Konoplyanka believes his son intends to use his new employers as a stepping stone towards Camp Nou.
“Yevhen should be unveiled by Sevilla on July 10, but it depends on Dnipro’s consent,” he told ifootball.com
“Otherwise, the player can’t train or be unveiled until August 1, when his contract begins.
He added to matchday.ua: “He’s joined Sevilla because he wants to improve.
“It’s true that Atletico Madrid were very interested in signing my son, but he chose Sevilla because their style of play suits his characteristics better.
“The main objective in the future for Yevhen is to play for Barcelona, although we understand that it’s too early at the moment.”
