Valencia are closing in on the €6m signing of Celta Vigo right winger Augusto Fernandez, according to various reports.
The 29-year-old only recently extended his contract with the Galicians until 2019, but Superdeporte claims the player was subject of conversations between Che President Amadeo Salvo and two of owner Peter Lim’s aides Lay Hoon and Kim Koh on Thursday evening.
However, it remains to be seen whether Coach Nuno Santo will give the go-ahead to the move as none of Valencia’s transfers can do so without his approval.
Additionally, Celta reportedly own only 50 percent of Fernandez’s playing rights, although the identity of the third party was not disclosed by the newspaper.
AS, meanwhile, believes an agreement worth €6m is close to being reached and will be confirmed “in the next few months”.
Fernandez joined Celta from Velez Sarsfield in 2012 and has since become a key player at Balaidos, notably earning a place in Argentina’s squad for the 2014 World Cup.
