Juventus forward Carlos Tevez is faced with a dilemma – accept a big-money offer from Paris Saint-Germain or play under Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid.
Marca claims Tevez could almost triple his wage by taking the contract on offer from France, a deal said to be worth some €12m a season.
But he could also move to Vicente Calderon and the lure of playing under Cholo, a fellow Argentine, is proving strong too.
Tevez initially intended to return to Argentina and Boca Juniors, Marca note, but his performances for the Old Lady have led to more suitors in Europe.
Atletico have been wooing Tevez but face being trumped by the money in Paris, with PSG looking to replace Edinson Cavani, who is expected to move on.
The Atleti high command met on Wednesday to discuss the package they could offer Tevez and still be in line with both the League’s rules on finances, and UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.
Atleti are hoping their sporting project will be more of a lure than the money offered by PSG with the chance to win a title in a third country central to it. Tevez has already landed both the Premier League and Serie A.
Tevez would not only play under a compatriot but, it’s hoped, alongside one, as Atletico still want Villarreal’s Luciano Vietto. The Argentine contingent would be rounded out by Angel Correa.
Should Tevez arrive then Fernando Torres would stay, as would Antoine Griezmann, but Mario Mandzukic would be sold on and Raul Jimenez likely sent out on loan.
