Filipe Luis could be on his way back to Atletico Madrid this summer as Chelsea are reportedly keen on sacrificing the left-back for Toby Alderweireld.
The Brazil international joined the Blues for €17m last season, along with fellow title winners Diego Costa and Thibaut Courtois, but found himself behind Cesar Azpilicueta for much of the season.
His lack of game time, coupled with Diego Simeone’s desire to re-sign the player, have led Marca to suggest that a swap deal with the Belgian defender could be in the offing.
The newspaper claims the English champions would also consider Joao Miranda in the deal, but Alderweireld’s Premier League experience is more appealing to Jose Mourinho.
Alderweireld was loaned to Southampton for the 2014-15 campaign and played a key role in helping the Saints’ to a seventh-place finish and Europa League qualification.
The South Coast side have already shown an interest in keeping the former Ajax stopper on a permanent basis, but with the possibility of joining Chelsea and Euro 2016 around the corner, he could have a difficult decision on his hands.
