Porto have confirmed the free transfer signing of Rayo Vallecano forward Alberto Bueno on a five-year deal.
Bueno leaves Vallecas after two years with the Madrid-based outfit, recording 17 League goals in his final campaign as Paco Jemez’s side finished 11th.
Porto have said in a statement on their official website that Bueno’s contract includes a €40m release clause while the 27-year-old spoke of the ‘great challenge’ that awaits him under Julen Lopetegui, with whom he previously worked when both were at Real Madrid Castilla.
“I’m at a very good stage in my career. I can learn from those around me and I have a strong desire and ambition to do my job for a big club,” Bueno added.
“I don’t know how it will be next season but I want to do things well and improve my game, which isn’t only scoring goals.
“I was honoured to work with Lopetegui for a year. I learned a lot and when he wanted me to come to this great club I didn’t think twice.
“I’m happy to work with him again and I look forward to the start of the season because I have many targets to meet here.”
