Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has thrown his support behind boss Carlo Ancelotti following the Champions League elimination.
The 1-1 semi-final draw with Juventus at the Santiago Bernabeu meant Los Blancos went out 3-2 on aggregate, leading to suggestions that Ancelotti will depart the club at the end of the season when, as looks likely, the Spanish giants will end up without a trophy in the cabinet.
Nonetheless, Kroos told reporters post-match that he enjoys playing under the Italian and lamented not getting a second goal on the night against Juve.
“I love working with Ancelotti because he’s a great Coach. However, what happens is not my decision,” commented the German international.
“We only lacked a goal to go through. We created a lot of chances, with numerous crosses into the box, but had no success.
“In the first half especially we had several opportunities but we missed that second goal.”
