LFP President Javier Tebas has described the move to the sale of collective television rights as ‘the birth of a new League.’
A royal decree has been issued after the Spanish government confirmed a proposition to end the individual sale of television rights by clubs in the Primera and the Segunda.
“A new League has been born and it will be unstoppable for equalling and bettering our competitors and the growth of our industry,” AS quotes Tebas as saying from Mexico.
“This decree of the Spanish government is historic for Spanish professional football and will allow us to be more competitive in the domestic and international market.”
