Villarreal have been boosted by the return to full fitness of left-back Bojan Jokic following seven months on the sidelines.
The Slovenia international suffered cartilage damage to his right knee last year but played his first game of the 2014-15 campaign in Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Getafe, and he admitted it was finally a relief to pull on a pair of boots again after undergoing an operation.
“The wait has been too long and I didn’t expect the recovery to be as hard as it has been,” the 28-year-old told reporters.
“But the important thing is that I’m fine now. I thought I’d only be out three months and it didn’t turn out that way.
“I found it difficult because it took longer than I imagined and I didn’t know when I’d be back.”
