Real Madrid have joined Juventus and Roma in competing for the signature of highly-rated Augsburg defender Baba Rahman.
According to Supersport.com, the Spanish giants monitored the 20-year-old’s [pictured, right] performances for Ghana during the recent African Nations Cup, following some excellent displays in his first full season in the Bundesliga.
Rahman was widely tipped to move to one of Europe’s big clubs during the January transfer window but his agent Kurt Okraku, chief executive of Proton Sport, believes it is something that could happen come the summer.
“It’s true that there are clubs after Baba but Augsburg did not accept a move in January, considering the investment they’ve made him, and wouldn’t allow him to leave after such a short time.
“However, anything could happen later after the season has ended,” he admitted.
Rahman began his career at Dreamz FC of Ghana’s Division Two and after impressing was then transferred on loan to Asante Kokoto of the Premier Division, before a move to Germany’s Greuther Furth and a subsequent €2.5m switch to Augsburg in July 2014.
