Atletico Madrid winger Cristian Rodriguez has admitted that he is considering a move to the United States or Brazil after writing off his Parma loan.
The Uruguay international joined the Serie A strugglers for the rest of the season in January, unaware that both his new club were beset by financial problems and their players had not been paid for seven months.
“You’re playing at weekends and not being paid… Unfortunately, there are many problems at this club,” Cebolla told Cadena SER.
“The vast majority of the players haven’t been paid for seven months. Some players are still here from last year without pay.
“I joined [Parma] to get more minutes in time for the Copa America. I wanted to arrive at the Copa America with a different role to the one I had at Atleti, where I didn’t always play.
“I was looking to play [more games], so I decided to come here.
“I haven’t spoken to Diego Simeone [about my situation] but I’ve told [CEO] Miguel Angel [Gil].
“He told me Atleti was still my home and that I could still train with the team.
“l’m now looking to join a team in the United States or Brazil for the next three to four months because the idea was that I’d be able to play at the Copa America [for Uruguay].”
“I can only go to a club in Brazil or the United States.”
