Victor Fernandez rued Deportivo La Coruna’s inability to act decisively in the final third following their 0-0 draw with Almeria in La Liga on Saturday.
The Galicians’ winless streak was extended to three matches after they failed to make any of their 21 shots at goal count against the Andalucians or capitalise on Thievy Bifouma’s 55th-minute red card, leaving the Coach to curse his side’s luck after the game.
“Despite being in control of the game and coming here to win, you must settle for a draw when you can’t win,” the former Porto and Zaragoza boss noted.
“We couldn’t score because we lacked accuracy [in our finishing], quality in our final pass and because of their goalkeeper.
“Ironically, until the dismissal of Thievy [Bifouma] we made more chances and dominated after the first 10 minutes.
“However, we lacked the final pass once more. It was a physical and demanding match, and our opponents played with intensity and pressure.”
