Shkodran Mustafi has insisted that he is only focused on Valencia’s fortunes, not those of their rivals.
Los Che opened up a five-point lead on fourth place in La Liga at the weekend thanks to their victory over Cordoba, coupled with Sevilla’s defeat to Real Sociedad, both of which have left them just three behind third-placed Atletico Madrid.
“What happens between Sevilla and Atletico Madrid is not important, either for me or the rest of the team,” the defender told reporters.
“We must concentrate on the match against Real Sociedad and getting the three points.
“Once we’ve achieved [the win] then we’ll assess what happens at Sanchez Pizjuan, but until then we have nothing to worry about.
“We must continue with the same dynamics and level we’ve been at to achieve our objectives.”
