Andres Iniesta has attempted to play down Jeremy Mathieu’s comments on the fallout between Luis Enrique and Lionel Messi.
The pair had an alleged bust-up prior to Barcelona’s recent defeat to Real Sociedad, one that was originally denied by the club prior to defender Mathieu lifting the lid on the spat in an interview last week.
“It is already forgotten. Teammates never want to harm each other, not least Mathieu, who is an excellent colleague. All we want to do now is to concentrate on remaining strong,” Iniesta told beIN sports.
The Spain international was also asked about the importance of Luis Suarez to the Barca team, even though the Uruguayan has managed just two League goals this season.
“Luis is helping out in other areas and that’s important. He’s scored goals all his life and for that reason it’s only a matter of time before he scores again.
“I hope he gets a bit more luck in the next game,” added Iniesta.
