Deportivo la Coruna boss Victor Fernandez believes his side threw away the opportunity to take all three points in the 2-2 draw with Granada.
Depor managed to turn things around with goals from Jose Rodriguez and Lucas Perez after Piti had given the Andalusians an early lead, only for Robert Ibanez to snatch an equaliser with seven minutes left, and it left Fernandez feeling his players had missed the chance to climb further away from the relegation zone.
“At 2-1 we had two or three clear opportunities to have finished the game off but they took advantage of our poor defending and that cost us,” he told reporters.
“It was a game where we did enough to win and I feel as if we have lost two points. We went through a bad spell when they got their first goal and we looked nervous and felt the pressure.
“Even so, we reacted and learned to play together as a team, although the fight to avoid the drop is going to be a constant one this season,” he admitted.
