Bruno Soriano has issued a warning to Villarreal’s rivals ahead of the season’s restart. “We’re eager to return and compete again.”
The Yellow Submarine ended 2014 strongly with six consecutive victories, and the midfielder – who was recently recalled by Spain – is adamant his side will have no qualms in prolonging their impressive run of results into the New Year.
“I don’t know if we can keep [our form] up for the course of the season. Our intention is to go step bystep without looking beyond our next matches,” he told reporters.
“We know what we have to do, we must compete at 100 percent, giving the maximum for this club. Our ambition is to continue flying high in the League.
“We’re a young team who want to grow and draw confidence from our strength to compete.
“The holidays have been good for resting, but we’re already eager to return and compete again.
“Every game from this point onwards will be very difficult because everyone will be playing for something.
“In La Liga if you relax a little, anyone can beat you. Therefore, we must proceed with the good dynamics [we had in the first part of the season].
“[In response to the Cani speculation], we have to wait and see what the club and Cani think.”
