Valencia have confirmed the capture of midfielder Enzo Perez from Benfica for a fee of €25m.
The 28-year-old had been linked with a move to Manchester United but a club statement from Los Che disclosed he will pen a four-and-a-half-year deal at Mestalla on Friday.
“Valencia and Benfica have reached agreement for the transfer of Enzo Nicolas Perez on a permanent deal that will be made official on January 2, 2015. The move is subject to the player passing a medical.
“The Argentine international will arrive at Valencia airport at 11.25pm local time and will undergo a medical under the supervision of Valencia Football Club’s medical team,” it read.
Perez made 11 starts for Benfica this season and has scored nine goals in 67 League games since signing from Estudiantes for €2.4m in summer 2011.
