Real Madrid are monitoring the progress of Tenerife's teenage goalkeeper Carlos Abad-Hernandez, according to AS.
Los Blancos’ underlined their commitment to nurturing young talents with the signing of Marco Asensio earlier this month, and they could be about to pursue another hot Spanish prospect.
Carlos, 19, only broke into Tenerife first team this season and is still on a youth contract, which expires in 18 months’ time and has a buyout clause of just €3m.
Standing at 1.93m, the custodian has been likened to Thibaut Courtois, but the Spanish publication believes Madrid have identified him as the long-term heir to Iker Casillas.
However, Tenerife are keen to retain Carlos by offering him professional terms and increasing his release threshold to a figure between €6-10m.
