Heynckes backing Reus for Madrid

Former Bayern Munich and Real Madrid boss Jupp Heynckes says Marco Reus would be better off in Madrid than Munich.

The Borussia Dortmund star is being linked with a move to some of Europe’s biggest clubs, and will be available for €25m at the end of the season as a result of a clause in his contract.

However, despite both Bayern and Madrid being hot on his trail, Heynckes feels the 25-year-old should plump for the Santiago Bernabeu and not the Allianz Arena.
“I would recommend him to go to Madrid. Bayern have four or five world class players up front so where would he play?” he asked when being interviewed by Sky 90.

“If he really has that €25m release clause in his contract then all the big European teams should go for him.”

Reus was recently fined €540,000 for driving without a licence and Heynckes says there is no excuse for his actions.

“It’s incomprehensible. There is no excuse. He should be better advised,” he commented.
