Juanfran Moreno has insisted that the Deportivo La Coruna players remain fully behind Coach Victor Fernandez ahead of facing Elche on Monday.
Local Press reports this week suggested that failure to beat La Liga's bottom club would result in the 54-year-old being replaced by former Real Sociedad boss Martin Lasarte, but the winger felt his side's struggles paled in comparison to those he previously endured.
"Obviously, when results don't follow, people immediately blame the Coach, but in the dressing room the feeling is that we're not meeting the Coach's expectations," he said at a Press conference.
"My short experience at Betis last year didn't transmit much positivity. There wasn't even a sporting director or Coach.
"I say you have to keep calm. We all got nervous and began to blame eachother, it wasn't not the solution. You must remain patient, but it's difficult not to be nervous."
Depor have plummeted into the relegation zone following a run of four defeats in six matches, with just one goal scored during that time, but the ex-Real Madrid man was adamant that his team would 'step up' against Elche.
"We only need the ball to go in, the players are feeling good," Juanfran added.
"Although we lack goals at the moment, [Luis] Farina recovered this week, and I'm sure he'll help us. I'm convinced we'll step up [on Monday].
"With five defenders, we're on track towards reaching our targets. We didn't create enough chances with the back four.
"The fans are clever, they know the team need their help and will be with us from the beginning [against Elche].
"Elche are a better team than their position suggests. They have a great Coach [Fran Escriba] and forward who's making a difference [Jonathas]. I expect a difficult match."
