Victor Fernandez has hailed the 'special atmosphere' that has swept La Coruna ahead of Deportivo's encounter with Malaga on Saturday.
The Galician town has come together in light of last week's fatality prior to Depor's loss against Atletico Madrid, with a Euro ticket scheme being promoted for this weekend's match at La Riazor, much to the delight of their Coach.
"There's a very special atmosphere, not only around Deportivo," he said at a Press conference yesterday.
"It's like a test for everyone in the city. They're crossing their thresholds for a football match.
"Football is the only engine that can help solve problems and conceal the issues we currently have. We must try to forget this tragic accident, which can only be done by playing well [against Malaga] and winning.
"It was very strange to see an empty backdrop in the cup match. Behind the goal, there's normally a magnetism which attracts you to score a goal or clear the ball.
"I've been told that there's been a massive response to the Euro ticket scheme. We'll need their support because we'll all be stronger for it."
This will be the second consecutive match involving Depor and Malaga, as they drew 1-1 in the Copa del Rey midweek, but Fernandez believes there will not be a repeat performance.
"Malaga will bring back six or seven starters who did not play in the Cup match. Deportivo will also make many changes," he added.
"They're very close to the Champions League spots, while we're not. My conclusion is that we'll see a game which will have nothing to do with the cup.
"Their essence will not change. They have good-quality players, who are quick and have lots of individual technique.
"They have tremendous merit from winning five straight games in La Liga and have great potential. They're a team who play quick transitions.
"We won't play for the draw. We want a victory, and we suppose that our opponents do too. There's a sense of responsibility and commitment on our part."
