Real Madrid have been encouraged by the news that Marco Reus’ agent has rubbished claims he is to sign for Bayern Munich.
Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti is a known admirer of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Reus and the Spanish giants have already made their interest known, while the player’s agent, Dirk Hebel, told Kicker magazine his client had not spoken to Bayern.
“There are no negotiations between Marco and Bayern. There has never been any contact,” he insisted.
Madrid are one of a number of interested clubs, with Manchester City and Chelsea also understood to be keen bring him to the Premier League.
The 25-year-old’s contract at Signal Iduna Park expires in June 2016 and he has so far shown no enthusiasm to pen a renewal on an agreement that contains a buyout clause of €25m.
As a result, Dortmund’s best option may be to cash in on the German international, who is currently sidelined for an estimated three months with a knee injury.
