Deportivo La Coruna Coach Victor Fernandez has explained why his assistant was furious with Real Sociedad boss David Moyes.
Roberto Cabellud had to be restrained from confronting the Scot during the goalless draw between the sides and after the match, Fernandez explained his understanding of the incident.
“I didn’t see what happened but they tell me their Coach entered the pitch to give them the ball, they used it quickly and almost scored,” Fernandez said, Marca reports.
“I didn’t see the play but it’s what I was told by the players and the staff. It had to be cancelled out quickly and could have been a disaster for us.”
Regarding the match itself, Fernandez praised Deportivo for improving in the second half and singled out on-loan Real Madrid youngster Jose Rodriguez.
“We adjusted in the second half, became more precise in our attacks, put on more pressure and we had a very good second half, though we lacked venom and mischief,” he added.
“Jose is a boy of 19 who has to get to know the Primera. I hope the last few weeks have served to show how difficult the Primera is.
“If he does as I ask, has will have options. He’s been energetic and has to keep learning about professional football.”
