Carlo Ancelotti believes comparisons between Cristiano Ronaldo and Alfredo Di Stefano are justified and again backed Ronaldo to win the Ballon d’Or.
Ronaldo has been mooted as a certainty to win the prize, with Ancelotti again backing the forward for the prize, saying he can only see a World Cup winner as rival.
The Coach also suggested that comparisons between Ronaldo and Di Stefano were not out of line and believes Ronaldo will strive to do more to live up to the tag.
“I think it’s deserved, yes,” Ancelotti said at a Press conference prior to the game against Rayo Vallecano.
“Putting him up there with Di Stefano is a great motivation for the future. He deserves it.
“The Ballon d’Or results will do the talking. Close to Cristiano will be the German players who won the World Cup but I don’t think there are other players who are near.”
