Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has criticised Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers over his team selection against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Rodgers rested the likes of Steven Gerrard, Mario Balotelli and Jordan Henderson for the Champions League clash at the Santiago Bernabeu with this weekend’s game with Chelsea in mind, prompting Mourinho to insist he would have put out his strongest team against a club of Madrid’s stature.
“If Liverpool decided to save players against the European champions then that is their manager’s concern, not mine,” Mourinho was reported as saying by A Bola.
“If I ever feel as though I can’t win a game then I’d rather stay at home.
“Normally, against the toughest opponents my best team will take the field.”
