Deportivo la Coruna defender Luisinho felt his team’s loss to Getafe last week was down to over-confidence.
The Galicians went down 2-1 at Riazor against the Madrid outfit, Helder Postiga notching a late winner, and Luisinho believes the positive results obtained in the two previous games had lulled them into a false sense of security.
“We didn’t start that game well because we thought we’d get all three points after beating Valencia and drawing with Espanyol,” the Portuguese left-back told a Press conference.
“We didn’t do that and now we must think about getting all three points against Cordoba this Friday.
“We’ll have to go there with positive thinking to get the win because we are all in this together. When we win, we all win, and when we lose, we all lose.
“This group of players is united and becoming more so every day. We want to stay in La Primera and are capable of doing it.
“Now we just have to go out and prove it on the pitch.”
Luisinho is aware it will be a big game at the Nuevo Arcangel, with the Andalusians bottom of the table and Depor just three points above them, and is hoping for a calm approach on the night.
“The dressing room is mentally prepared for Cordoba. It’s an important game for them and us but our Coach is relaxed and he transmits that to the team.
“He isn’t nervous about anything and we know what it means for everyone, so we must accept the responsibility.
“We’ve lost a home game and now we must make amends by taking these three points,” declared the former Benfica player.
