Victor Fernandez was at a loss to offer reasons why Deportivo La Coruna lost at home on Friday night to Celta Vigo.
A Fabricio own goal opened the scoring, the goalkeeper unfortunate after a shot struck the post and bounced into the net off his head after he dived to make a save.
Angel Lafita made it 2-0 shortly after the break and while Helder Postiga’s late goal gave Depor hope of taking a point, it was the visitors who were victorious.
“It’s a game that we’ve given away in the first half. We came out soulless, badly positioned, and we didn’t have collective or individual solutions in the first 45 minutes,” Fernandez complained, Marca reports.
“We wanted to re-build at half-time but they scored after 20 seconds and that was another blow.
“It’s hard to explain because we came into the game with two good results and some positive momentum, the pitch was good, we were playing at home against a team with quality but one we could overcome and we haven’t shown it at all in the first 45 minutes.”
