Ferrer not fearing for his job

Cordoba Coach Albert Ferrer doesn’t believe his job is under threat even though his team have yet to win this season.

Los Califas were beaten at home by Malaga on Saturday night and sit second bottom of the table, with only Deportivo La Coruna below.

Ferrer argued after the match that it wasn’t a particularly poor performance, but accepted it was lacking something.

He also insisted he didn’t believe the Cordoba board would consider a change despite the team’s struggles.

“It wasn’t our worst game but we did lack forcefulness. We didn’t win enough duels,” he said, according to Marca.

“I don’t fear for my job. We’re going to move forward and I’ll be with my players until the end.

“We are who we are and we will work until the end. We have to fix things and it will be long and complicated.

“We have to be a little better with the ball than we were in the first half. We have to be stronger and realise where we are.

“It costs a lot, physically, to compete with our rivals. We have to be more aggressive and never let up.”
