Mario Mandzukic has been given some better news after suffering a broken nose in Atletico Madrid’s Champions League defeat against Olympiacos.
AS report the striker has left hospital and is resting at home following surgery but could begin training as soon as Sunday or Monday.
The doctor who performed the operation has said Mandzukic would ordinarily need two weeks to recover before he can play again but with a protective mask, might be able to play in 10 days’ time.
Mandzukic suffered the injury in the first few minutes of the 3-2 reverse but played on and even scored, netting a header to make the score 2-1 shortly before half time.
