Deportivo la Coruna boss Victor Fernandez maintains his side’s run of bad luck this season has been broken.
It follows the Galicians’ 1-0 win over Eibar at Ipurua on Monday night, Juan Dominguez taking advantage of an early defensive error to claim all three points.
“Winning in Ipurua has broken our bad luck because in the three games we’ve played this season we’ve been ahead on the scoreboard and not won – until today,” Fernandez told a post-match Press conference.
“Furthermore, we finished with a clean sheet so this strengthens us. We are now in the top 10 and that gives us room for improvement, but we need to improve a lot.
“This match was largely influenced by the intensity shown by both sides. It was a very tactical game in many respects, but due to the dimensions of the pitch there was a lot of physical contact between two competitive teams.
“The big teams that come here will struggle to put their game together, unless they score first, and not many sides will take points away,” he claimed.
