Deportivo la Coruna goalkeeper German Lux has described the club’s deadline day signings as ‘experienced and ambitious’.
The Galicians snapped up central defender Sidnei from Benfica, midfielder Juanfran from Real Betis and Valencia striker Helder Postiga with just hours to go on the final day of the summer market.
Argentine international Lux believes it has been good business for the newly-promoted club.
“Those who have come in are players with lots of familiarity with the elite and the squad is now made up of experienced and ambitious players,” the 32-year-old told a Press conference.
“They have played for big teams and in Postiga we now have a complete striker who holds the ball up well and is technically good, so he is a great acquisition for Depor.”
Victor Fernandez’s men have started the La Liga campaign with a 2-1 defeat at Granada and a 2-2 home draw against Rayo Vallecano, and Lux has asked fans to be patient as the team tries to adapt to the style of the new Coach.
“It’s going to take a little time and we all need to be patient and focus on our work, which will eventually bear fruit.
“In our first two games we were leading but both our opponents turned the scoreline around, although at least against Rayo we got our first point of the season.”
Depor face a visit to another promoted club in Eibar next Monday and Lux is aware of how important the fixture is, given the next two games are against Real Madrid and Celta Vigo.
“These are three important points. We want to get some positive results so we can relax a little bit more but it is a long season and it’s only just begun.
“We know we only have one point and it could turn out to be very important to win at Eibar, because then we have two extremely tough matches,” he admitted.
