Barcelona were interested in Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus but are backing away as they feel he’s going to Bayern Munich next year.
Mundo Deportivo report that Barca explored the possibility of this summer signing Reus after FIFA upheld the club’s transfer ban that, pending an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, bars the club signing anyone after the current transfer window until January 2016.
Reus’ contract release clause next year falls to €25m but Barca looked into his arrival now, only to get the impression he has already committed to joining Bayern.
He would be the third Dortmund player to make the move in recent times, should it go ahead, following Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski.
