Barcelona don’t want to end their summer signings at Thomas Vermaelen as reports say a right-back is still on the agenda.
Mundo Deportivo claim Juan Cuadrado and Lukasz Piszczeck, of Fiorentina and Borussia Dortmund respectively, are on the top of the shortlist.
But the Catalans would have to pay €50m for the former and €35m for the latter, potentially pricing the players out of moves.
Dani Alves’ continued presence means a right-back isn’t a priority anymore and Barca will go no higher than €40m for Cuadrado.
Fiorentina paid a total €22m for the Colombia international, however, and want more of a profit on their investment.
Manchester United are keen on Cuadrado too but may be devoting their time and money to Angel Di Maria, which could give Barca an opening.
