Real Madrid defender Pepe was reluctant to speak about his altercation with Roma’s Seydou Keita during a recent friendly.
The pair clashed as Madrid and Roma met in the United States and Keita later alleged Pepe had racially abused him during a Barcelona vs. Madrid match, when Keita was with La Blaugrana.
Pepe was asked about the incident by AS and chose to take a diplomatic stance.
“The pictures are there. People will say what they want. I have nothing more to say about it,” the Portugal defender commented.
Pepe was more forthcoming on the new season and the prospect of competing for six trophies with Los Blancos.
“The season looks good but first we have to train together. I expect to help Real Madrid,” he said.
“We hope to show the level of last year. We are assembling a team with more quality but the important thing is to work together to win trophies, like last year.
“It’s going to be a tough year for us because we will be the team that all teams want to beat.”
